Fun for kids!!!

Ok I thought my kids were a little old for some of these kids friendly activities, but after they played with moon sand while camping a few weeks ago with the little kids I think they may enjoy a few of these activities. Those of you with smaller kids will love these Kid friendly activities.

1. Cloud Dough http://www.icanteachmychild.com/2011/08/cloud-dough/ This dough feels and sticks together like the pricey Moon Sand.

2. Peanut Butter Playdough  http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,199,149163-237203,00.html
This recipe calls for dry or powered milk, I have use powered sugar and it works great. It does make the dough way sweeter and fun of sugar if you decide to let the kids eat the dough when they are finished playing with it.

 3. Oatmeal Playdough http://www.playdoughrecipe.org/playdough-recipes/oatmeal-playdough-recipe/ We have never made oatmeal dough but it is worth a try. I would suggest it you store has a bulk section to get you oatmeal there. It is way cheaper they buying the oatmeal in the cereal section. If you don't have a bulk section I would suggest a store brand or the generic brand.

4. Kool aid Playdough http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,189,149163-234206,00.html This is by far my favorite Playdough just because it smells so good. Yummy!!

 5. Coffee dough http://kidsactivitiesblog.com/mud-like-coffee-playdough/ This is a new one for me I have never heard or played with coffee dough. Looks like a day worth of coffee ground will not make it in the compost it will become dirt colored dough. Ok I think that is enough to keep moms busy mixing and will keep little hands busy playing. Please feel free to share photos of you dough playing adventures. Hugs, Mariah

Where Have I been???

Ok Ok  So you may say to yourself where has Mariah been? Since my last posting this have chilled out quite a bit in our household hockey has come to an end, school ended for the year, wrestling came to an end for Little man resulting in him being the 1St Place State Champion for Freestyle wrestling and a 4th place State Champion for Greco-Roman Style wrestling. My Princess has moved up a level in her swim team and is now swimming in the morning and has increased from 3 hours a week to 6 hours a week. So mainly I have been freed from all schedules and there for I have been very relaxed in the meal plans I am sure the long summer night here in Alaska are not helping it is hard to think about making dinner when the sun is bright and shining and I just want to be outside. We are up to 19 hours of daylight hours, so when 5 rolls around my first though is not dinner, first though of the day is being outside in the sunshine playing with the dog, playing with the kids, riding bikes, weeding the garden, mowing the yard and doing anything else to keep me out when the sun is shining.

So since I need to keep myself in check I need to start keeping the blog even if it is sharing cool things with you I find searching the internet when we have raining days and things I find while searching the net during the 6 hours I am a t the pool while Sierra is swimming.

So that answers the burning question as to where I have been since my last postings.....

Thanks Around the table For the recipe. We are so excited to try it, since my Husband loves quinoa and the kids don't I think the cheese may trick the kids into eating it.
